As with all FOOD FOR THOUGHT projects we maximize the benefit to the food bank by operating with volunteers. FFT Antiques & Collectibles is a 3200 square foot retail store selling donated and consigned merchandise, and renting retail space to other antique dealers.

In the store we need volunteers to help with:

• Working with customers, unlocking display cabinets, answering questions
• Assisting with the never-ending re-arranging and cleaning of the store
• Sorting and cataloging donations as they arrive
• Wrapping and packing
• Helping work the main desk and register

We also need help for the store but not IN the store:

• Got a truck? or a strong back? We need volunteers to help us pick up donations. This could be on an “as need” basis or on a regularly scheduled time.
• Large donations require a one-time crew that would be separately scheduled.

Events:

• We also have events at the store. These require a special crew with skills from helping us set up to passing appetizers.

The store is a great place to be. Shopping for our customers is as much an activity as it is to find a purchase so we try to make that activity as much fun as possible and make store an attractive exciting, place to be.  Customers love the store, the free popcorn, and Jac, the store dog and official greeter. And we love working here!
